Pantech group to finance Korean Studies Program at Stanford University Date: 4-29-2004
Pantech Group (Chairman Park, Byeong-Yeop, www.pantech.com, www.curitel.com) announced on April 28 that it will provide a total of $2 million for the next five years to finance the Korean Study Research Program at Stanford University in California, United States of America. The goal of financing this program is to promote research on Korea-U.S. relationship, nurture Korean Studies experts, and bring forth next-generation leaders.
The Korean Studies Research Program is to study Korea and to conduct research on other academic areas associated with Korea. The program also provides seminars and conferences to invite scholars, government officials and economists so that they can share research activities and hold debates on topics related to Korea.
Pantech Group's Chairman Park, Byeong-Yeop said: "Korea has become a major member of the global community. Therefore it has become essential for Pantech Group to carry out its role as a major global enterprise by being a contributor to such an important global study program."
