Curitel of S Korea suplies EV-DO enabled handsets to Verizon Date: 2005-02-28
Seoul, Feb 28 -- Mobile handset producer Curitel Communications Inc. said it has begun supplying high-speed mobile phones to US phone giant Verizon Wireless.
Curitel, which together with affiliate Pantech Co. is South Korea's third-largest mobile handset producer, is supplying its CDM-8940 phones, featuring the EV-DO (evolution data optimized) wireless service network. The model also features a 1.3-megapixel camera, digital music player and on-demand video function. Curitel and Pantech aim to sell as many as 2 million EV-DO handsets in the U.S. market, Curitel chief executive Song Moon-sup said in a statement.
