Troubleshooting tips



What is VOD and MOD?
Video-on-demand and Music-on-demand. With the new 3G standard and the 1x EVDO data capability, downloading or streaming at high data rate is possible.




What is Roaming?
It is a wireless service outside the provider's coverage area. You may need to subscribe to roaming service to be connected to other carrier and additional charge may apply. Check with the service provider.



What is DTMF?
This allows key tone, set as short or long, to communicate with answering machines or other devices that understand the tone. For example, you can call certain remote answering machine and press a certain key tone to listen to the voicemail.



What is 3G?
It stands for 3rd generation digital cellular phone standard that include high data speeds, always-on data access, and greater voice capacity.



What is 1X Service Area?
A service area capable of supporting 3G CDMA technologies.



What is EV-DO Mode?
It stands for EVolution Data Only. It is a part of 3G CDMA 1x technology that refer to high speed data rate of up to 2.4 Mbps.



Why do I need to change to 1X mode?
Although 1X mode has a slower data transfer rate than EV-DO mode, it is allowing incoming calls when you are downloading data. While in EV-DO mode, no incoming calls are allowed.



What is Airplane Mode?
It is a feature that allows the phone to turn off RF transmission and reception that can interfere with other electronic devices. This is useful when flying on an airplane and you still want to use other functions on the phone.



What is Dormant Mode?
During data download or internet browsing, the phone goes into a dormant mode when no data is being downloaded.




What languages are available?
Currently only Korean & English are available.



What is White Balance?
It is a reference of white at certain lighting condition. This is useful when you are taking picture under different lighting environment. You can also allow the camera to determine the White Balance by using the Auto setting.



What is Quality-Superfine, Fine, and Normal?
This refers to the amount of image compression loss when saving the image to a file. For example, Superfine is the lesser compression loss than the other two.



What is the maximum resolution of the camera?
2.0 Mega pixels. It is good for printing a picture at 4" x 6" size.



What is the maximum recording time of the video?
This depends on the amount of memory available. You can also add external T-Flash memory card for more recording time.



How can I transfer the pictures and videos to my PC?
One way is to transfer the pictures or videos to the external memory card and then transfer them to the PC; or send them via email. Downloaded pictures and videos that are embedded with DRM (digital right management) may not be transferable. Check Helio's website for any special software tool that can help you transfer your pictures and videos to your PC.



How do I watch video or play music?
You can download video and music from Helio website or watch them as they stream to your phone. Check Helio's website for special software tool that can help you add video and music to your phone.



Can I use my "Hero" cell phone to connect to a PC as a modem?
No, this service is independent and is not available with this phone.



Can I print my pictures to a Pictbridge printer directly?
No, this service is not available. To print your pictures, transfer them to your external memory card and move them to your PC for printing.



Troubleshooting tips
1. Water damage indicator: It is located between the battery contacts and it turns into a solid pink color when expose to liquid.
2. Battery contacts: If bent or dirty, battery may not be charged properly.
3. Transmission call dropping: Caller may be out of coverage area. If necessary, carrier may need to investigate that area.
4. Back door codes: Help handset owner who is locked out of the phone by resetting password. Can also be used to self diagnose hardware functions.
